Cricut Cartridge Storage

I received this wonderful snapware container as a White Elephant gift at the IA Swarm. I finally have had time to cut down my plastic canvas and make the dividers for the container. It was tedious but I did get it done! This is certainly going to help me simplify my life in 2009! I do need to add onto this container so I have more room for books and overlays. I do however have plenty of room for more cartriges! HINT HINT! I will be labeling the tops of my cartridges too!
If you would like instructions on this check out the cricut forum here: http://www.cricut.com/messageboard/tm.aspx?m=3433071&mpage=1

New Years Resolution

In 2009 I resolve to be more organized! This cart my Mil and Fil gave me for Christmas will be a great start!
Also I plan to follow Ali Edwards suggestion. On Ali's blog she talked about choosing a word that you would like to focus on for the year 2009 .

I chose simplify.
sim⋅pli⋅fy  [sim-pluh-fahy]
verb (used with object), -fied, -fy⋅ing.
to make less complex or complicated; make plainer or easier: to simplify a problem.

Twas the night before Christmas (for Scrappers)

Twas the night before Christmas, I'm glued to the tree. I'm wondering what Santa brought just for me. Could it be cardstock or chipboard or lace? Or a Cricut, I said, with a smile on my face. And that's when I heard him, "Hi Santa, " I said "You know....good little girls should be in their beds." "I know I should Santa, and now I've got caught. But I was just so excited To see what you brought." "Well, let's take a look in this room where you work. He shook his head quickly, And left with a jerk. I heard him exclaim as he put it in gear. "You've got enough crap, I'll see you next year!"

Teacher Gifts (Altered Composition Notebook and Post it note holder)

A New Hobby

I saw on an online friend's (Robyn) blog http://thepinkstamper.blogspot.com/ that she sometimes made her own bracelets. She inspired not only me but my daughter to learn how to make bracelets. Today I made one for my 95 yr old Grandma upon her request for a bracelet with blue beads. I also made one for my daughter's stocking even though she has not believed for yrs! As she saw me making it she said "OHHHHHHH I want that!" I said it is "Mine!" She begged and pleaded and even counted out $10.00 worth of money from her piggy bank!! I finally caved and said it is yours I was going to put it in your stocking! So now she has a new bracelet! Hers has shades of blue, pink and purple. (the top picture) Thanks to Robyn for inspiring us!

Gingerbread Men

Today was a cold and windy Winter day. We are under a Blizzard warning so are staying in. A good day to decorate Gingerbread Men! I bought this kit at the store. The kids loved to decorate their own Gingerbread Men. The frosting decortators are from Pampered Chef.

Angel's among us?

This is my second Christmas without my Aunt Sharon. As I decorate our home for Christmas I am reminded of her over and over. So many things I decorate with were gifts from her. Tonight as I opened yet another box of Christmas decorations I saw it. The Angel tree topper my Aunt had given me years ago. I always thought it looked a little like her.

As I began to clean up from my night of decorating I saw the plastic container that my husband had found downstairs. A container I had not laid eyes on for some time. As I opened this container I saw it! The wicker mini picnic basket that she had given me filled with recipe cards for our wedding. I had kept the cards in the kitchen with her recipes but had lost track of this recipe box. I was sooooo happy to have found it! Over the next few days I will post my Aunt's recipes.

Giving Tree

My son's school is putting up a "Giving Tree" the idea is if you would like to buy a gift for a classroom then you can take a tag from the tree. The tag will have the teacher's name and one item from his/her wishlist. For example: Puzzles
I volunteered to help with this and to make the tags. Here are 13 of my 16 prototypes. I need to make 160 of these!! I used my cricut and design studio (for ease) and the Christmas Cheer catridge.

Cards for Soldiers

I attended a crop last month with some cricut message board friends. I was truely amazed watching Char make cards for soldiers. She ended up making 300 that weekend. I decided that I could send some cards to soldiers too! So here is my contribution of 30. Not 300 but it is a start! Thanks for the inspiration Char!
